Brief Description

This is a novel Fingertip Pulse Oximeter to provide quick and non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate at the same time. It applies two frequencies of light (red and infrared) to determine the percentage of hemoglobin in the blood that is saturated with oxygen. The percentage is called blood oxygen saturation, or SpO2. It is small in size, light in weight and DC powered for easy carrying and convenient applications at different places.

The “One-Button Design” of this pulse oximeter makes the operation very simple. You can turn on/off, set alarm & parameters and switch display modes by the only one button. It has low power consumption feature and can be used continuously for 30-40 hours. It also has low power indication and auto power off for power saving.

The SpO2 level and pulse rate can give us important information to the functioning of our respiratory and circulatory systems and that is to say the health of our body. It is very useful and convenient for self-checking of children, elders and sportsmen anytime anywhere. It can be used at homes, hospitals, clinics, eldercare facilities, sport venues, training centres and even workplaces.

Saturation of Peripheral Oxygen (SpO2)

Oxygen binds to hemoglobin in red blood cells when moving through the lungs and is transported throughout the body as arterial blood. Hemoglobin bound to oxygen is called oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO2) while hemoglobin not bound to oxygen is called deoxygenated hemoglobin (Hb). SpO2 is an estimation of the oxygen saturation level usually measured with apulse oximeter. It is defined by the following equation:

Oxygen saturation = C (HbO2) /(C (HbO2)+C (Hb)) x 100 (%)

C (Hb) = Concentration of deoxygenated hemoglobin

C (HbO2) = Concentration of oxygenated hemoglobin

Healthy individuals at sea level usually exhibit SpO2 values between 96% and 99%.
